Sayuri Desai Hanna began her non-profit career as a child, supporting a family friend’s vocational workshop for the developmentally disabled in Southern California with her enthusiastic interest in their work and understanding of their need for self-esteem. Her communication skills were honed during her tenure as a program administrator at Summer Science Program, Inc. (an intensive academic summer camp for teens), where she focused her attention on identifying the needs of the students and creating solutions. Later as Development and Communications Manager at the Oak Crest Institute of Science, she continued her interest in strategic operations by recruiting, coordinating, training and coaching college-level program “fellows,” as well as developing a signature community event to showcase the Institute’s work. In addition she helped the Board to update the Institute’s mission statement and secured Oak Crest’s first private foundation grants (including from The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation) and attracted front page local community recognition for the Institute.

Following, she joined the staff at the Flintridge Center, where she taught classes in grant-seeking basics, helped debug a registration database and provided behind-the-scenes logistics. She is active in the greater Los Angeles community, where she currently serves as the interim treasurer and board member for a local non-profit.

Hanna brings a creative flair and strong analytical skills to Brimhall & Associates, where she enjoys development assessments and pre-campaign studies, and participating as a key strategist in reviewing and creating collaterals, website design/copy and presentations.

She is a former environmental engineer and high school teacher and holds a B.S. from Caltech. Previously she studied photography/art/graphic design at Pasadena City College and earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management from The Fund Raising School at the University of Indiana.
