Ed Lin

Lin is a fundraising professional and lawyer based in Los Angeles, California. As Development Director of The Harmony Project in Los Angeles and former Executive Director of Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer and Development Director for A Place Called Home, an organization benefiting at-risk youth in South Central L.A., he is uniquely able to deliver a special focus on individual giving, corporate sponsorship, and grant writing programs.

His experience as a liaison with Boards of Directors, Advisory Boards, and multiple Board committees, while providing staff support and engaging volunteers, provides strategic consulting opportunities for his collaborations with Brimhall & Associates.

He is an excellent interviewer and writer and is familiar with social media (Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In) opportunities for non-profits. He has strengthened organization’s sponsorship base by restructuring sponsorship programs, adding options for smaller businesses as well as managed stewardship activities, including acknowledgment receptions, thank you letters and acknowledgment in print materials and media. He is an engaging public speaker and trainer.

In addition to his fundraising activities for non-profits, he also performs legal services including incorporation, trademark registration, and compliance consulting.

Prior to entering the non-profit world, Ed practiced full-time as an attorney, and was in-house counsel for Kubota Tractor Corporation.  He was a litigation associate at Elliot, Lamb, Leibl & Snyder, and operated a solo practice representing clients in the technology and cosmetics industries.  Ed has worked on various social research projects for RAND, and has extensive experience conducting interviews in both legal and non-legal contexts.

Ed is an active volunteer, having worked on several fundraising campaigns for the Wildwood School over the past three years.  Ed has also provided pro bono fundraising assistance to the Center for Lifelong Learners and to the Peace Kids.

Ed was graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a B.A. in Psychology, and has a J.D. from Loyola Law School.
